Administration recommended Ron Meyers as principal of Davis High School; Mrs. Cop moved to name Meyers and Mrs. Hatfield seconded. The board approved the appointment by a 7–0 vote.
The board next approved administration's recommendation to name Natalie Childish as executive director of student services. Mr. Daring moved the nomination and a second was offered; the motion passed 7–0.
The board then approved the appointment of Chris Kelly as executive director of special education after a motion by Mrs. Hatfield and a second; the vote was recorded as 7–0.

The board discussed, but did not take action on, a vacancy on the Denton Central Appraisal District Board of Directors caused by the recent death of a previously nominated candidate. Administration said it has not yet identified a replacement and the item was pulled for a future meeting.
The meeting closed its action items and moved into reports, including a midyear Career and Technical Education update and a facilities and construction update.
Actions recorded from the meeting include approval of the consent agenda; the naming of Ron Meyers as principal of Davis High School; the naming of Natalie Childish as executive director of student services; the naming of Chris Kelly as executive director of special education; and approval of the board's Standards of Professional Practice. Each recorded vote was unanimous per the meeting record.
