The Mentor City Council denied an amendment to the Bolton development plan (ordinance 26-O-019) at its March 17 meeting after the Planning Commission found the applicant's revised sub-area A preliminary development plan to be not in substantial agreement with the approved plan.
Mr. Zeeman summarized the Planning Commission's recommendation and explained the consequences: a yes vote would substitute the applicant's revised plan for the existing approved plan; a no vote would uphold the approved plan. Council moved to bring the item to a vote; after discussion the motion to approve the substitute plan failed on roll call. Recorded votes were No from Cook, Donovan, Kirchner, Pinkerman and Blake and Yes from Krieger, resulting in denial.
The item will remain under the existing approved preliminary development plan unless the applicant pursues further action through the Planning Commission or files a new application. Council did not indicate a follow-up schedule for reconsideration during this meeting.
