Plaquemines Council approves compactor procurement, surplus auction and multiple licenses in consent votes

The Plaquemines Parish Council approved a package of procurement and licensing items during its meeting, including a resolution authorizing acceptance of bids for 5‑yard industrial compactors, authorization for the purchasing agent to advertise and dispose of surplus vehicles and equipment by public auction, and grouped approvals of beer and liquor license applications and multiple RV/trailer park renewals.

Council Member Cottonovich offered the resolution for industrial compactors and was seconded by Council Member Jurich; machines were opened and the motion passed 7–0. A subsequent resolution to advertise and dispose of surplus vehicles by public auction (Henderson Auctions) was offered and seconded and passed 7–0. A set of liquor‑license applications and business items were taken in the consent process and passed as recorded.

A large group of permanent and temporary RV/trailer park renewals were offered in globo and approved with the same unanimous consent tally. Council members also approved a two‑year extension for Woodland Borrow Pits LLC for an existing borrow pit, and an ordinance to acquire a permanent servitude for a sewer lift station was offered and approved during the consent agenda. The council approved the minutes of the February 26, 2026 meeting and heard an updated finance report read into the record; members were asked to review and contact the finance department with questions.

The meeting concluded with an adjournment vote that passed six to one at 2:45 p.m.
