The Southern Oaks paving project was expected to finish this week, and a notice to proceed had been issued for the Marks Lane (Bertranville) cast‑iron waterline replacement to start in early April. Final plans for a box‑cover project on the Peter’s bypass bridge were submitted and staff said site work could begin within weeks once procurement and scheduling are complete.
Council members asked for written project reports for several items: an update on levy material placement after public reports that unsuitable dredged material had been placed on a section of levy, and status reports for multiple ongoing capital projects. Administration acknowledged the concerns, said initial reports were inaccurate about the need to scrape a section of levy, and confirmed that identified dredged material would not be used on the levy.
Public‑works staff provided a preliminary estimate for Lift Station 315 (Happy Jack) of between $1 million and $1.2 million and said formal paperwork on the design and cost would be provided to council members. Staff characterized that estimate as preliminary.
Other items discussed included participation in the statewide "Love the Boot" cleanup, training for aquatic facilities staff, youth sports registration, and corridor feasibility work for Barry Road with conceptual plans forthcoming.
No formal council vote on funding for the EOC or 911 occurred during the meeting; the update described procedural steps remaining before those funds are guaranteed.
