The Clive City Council on Aug. 14 approved the site plan and preliminary plat for Dana Distillery by a recorded vote of 5-0, clearing the way for a 20,000-plus-square-foot facility on 86th Street that will include manufacturing space, a tasting room, an outdoor patio facing the greenbelt and retail sales to the public.
Amanda, presenting the item, said Joseph Dana is the owner of Dana Distillery LLC and the applicant team was present. Staff showed site layouts and elevations and noted the building's finished floor elevation will be set to meet floodplain requirements; Amanda said the project will be built at one foot above the 100-year flood elevation and, as presented, "we're actually one foot above the 500-year elevation," providing additional protection.
