Clive urges residents to complete special census to secure federal street-maintenance funds

Pete Ty Cook, assistant city manager for Clive City, urged households that received a mailed notice to complete the city's special census online within two weeks to help the city secure federal funding for street maintenance.

"Have you received a piece of mail like this?" Cook asked, noting that households receiving the mailing "are going to be part of Clive's special census." He described the effort as "a really important project for our city so that we have an accurate count of our population and so we can get our fair share of federal dollars, specifically those dollars that go to keeping our streets maintained and in great shape."

Cook said residents who received the mailing "have got two weeks left to complete the special census online," and that "after that, census workers will be going through the neighborhoods to make sure that they contact every eligible household." He urged people to use the online option as "the best way to do it, the fastest way to do it is to get it done online," and asked those who have not yet completed the form to do so promptly.

The announcement provides a clear procedural deadline (two weeks from receipt of the mailing) and describes the city's outreach plan: an initial online self-response period followed by in-person canvassing by census workers for households that do not respond. Cook closed by thanking residents for participating in the special census.
