Clive council approves TIF-backed development agreement with Danner Distillery

She said the TIF assistance is “approximately 585,000 total over 10 years on a sliding scale.” No neighbors or members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing, and Mr. Danner and his team were present in the audience.
Council members moved to close the public hearing and then voted to adopt the resolution approving the development agreement. The council’s approval authorizes staff to finalize the agreement terms and proceed with the implementation steps described in the document.
Why it matters: the TIF package is intended to help finance private improvements tied to a commercial redevelopment and to support a public-facing use (the tasting room) that staff said will contribute to the city’s economic-development goals. Staff noted the site plan had already been approved, and Amanda recommended approval of the development agreement tonight.
