The Muncie Board of Public Works and Safety approved a 5% cost adjustment to the citywide ADA indefinite-delivery contract with Flatland Resources.
Adam (staff member) told the board the contract, competitively awarded last year, includes an open price provision that is revisited annually. Flatland initially requested a 7.1% increase, which Adam said exceeded last year’s construction cost index of about 4.5–5 percent. "I requested they adjust that down to 5%. They agreed," Adam said, and recommended the board approve the mutual price adjustment.
A board member moved approval of the cost adjustment and a second was made. The motion passed by voice vote with no roll-call tally recorded in the transcript.
The action adjusts the contract pricing going forward under the mutual-agreement provision described in the procurement documents. Board members confirmed the contractor’s work over the prior year had been satisfactory.
Next steps: staff will document the adjusted contract terms under the existing award.
