Don Finnegan, Indiana director for Honor and Remember, told the board the event will be escorted by local police through Delaware County and will stop about every mile to read the names of service members. “This year we... have 591 names that will be read out,” Finnegan said, and he added the stops typically attract “60 to 65 families across Indiana” who come to hear names called in brief, respectful ceremonies.
Finnegan asked for the permit to allow the run to pass through Muncie and to pause at City Hall; the board moved and seconded approval. A board member thanked Finnegan for continuing the event and the permit was approved by voice vote; the chair said the signed document would be provided to the organizer.
The permit covers the requested city stop during the run’s May 8–10 route. The board did not record individual roll-call votes during this agenda item.
