City Manager Holly Phelps said the grant, requested annually for many years, supports the city's preservation office; the office often uses staff time and in-kind contributions as the local match. Holly said the program helps maintain historic records and preservation efforts and noted the anticipated award amount is about $6,000.
Commissioners approved the motion by roll call without further amendment. Staff said the process is a federal pass-through and that the city has routinely applied each year.
