Commissioners say DOTD now controls Peters Road bridge let date; debate on oversight and lack of interim director

Commissioner Edwards pressed staff on whether they regularly consulted with Mr. Lee on legal matters and expressed concern that, without an interim executive director, reporting lines and executive oversight are unclear. "We're operating a ship without a captain," Commissioner Le France said, summarizing concerns about absent executive leadership. Staff replied that project coordination is discussed in pre‑board and internal staff meetings and that relevant managers and directors are included in status updates.
Staff also reported the LGP rail extension project is on temporary pause and invited commissioners to request a meeting with the rail engineer (CSRS) to discuss alignment and an amendment.
The discussion resulted in staff agreeing to continue coordination with DOTD and engineers and to provide additional updates after the WBIA announcement; no formal action or vote was recorded on project controls or staffing.
