District staff reported 10 certificated retirements/resignations and 23 classified retirements/resignations so far in the calendar year; much of the personnel activity noted on the human resources sheet related to coaching positions. The general fund payables highlighted three vendors—Bill Harris Used Cars, Brookner's Truck and Equipment, and Bryson Sales and Service—primarily for bus parts and repairs. Staff said mechanics completed much work in‑house but rely on vendors for specialized repairs.
Staff also explained a higher‑than‑usual Greenways Academy charge (~$171,000) reflected three months of billing rather than a monthly amount. The board approved three overnight student travel requests: track and field to the University of Oregon, TSA to Spokane, and SkillsUSA to the Seattle/Tacoma area. Donations included $5,000 from Howard's Medical to support track travel and $1,000 from the high‑school class of 2025 for prom.
The board also approved an early surplus and sale of a 2007 Thomas small bus (156,000 miles) to Wilson Creek School District because that district had an immediate need. Staff explained the district typically conducts an annual surplus sale in June and offers equipment first to public and private schools before opening to the public.
The consent agenda was approved by a unanimous voice vote.
