Land information staff reported that Dunn County received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for just over $81,000 to support continued development of GIS data and infrastructure for the county's NextGen 911 project.
Rachel told the Committee on Administration that the grant will support the GIS datasets and systems used by emergency communications, and staff noted the recent 911 phone system upgrade relies on GIS data for call routing. "We were awarded a grant through the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs in the amount of just over $81,000," Rachel said, and she told supervisors the award was not included in the current packet because of timing.
Staff said acceptance of the grant will require a budget amendment; the amendment and a formal acceptance resolution will be routed next month to the executive committee and the county board for approval.
