Staff described Maya—s parent-view features, scholarship modules and college-search tools, and said the first-year costs would overlap with maintaining Naviance for the outgoing cohort but that annual costs would be lower thereafter.
The high-school science department brought forward an honors-chemistry textbook/resource purchase that staff said had been piloted and budgeted through the prior curriculum council; no additional operating-year cost was projected. A separate item was a course-name update to reflect current instruction (renaming a dated electricity/magnetism title to a physics mechanics label); no curriculum or cost changes were required.
Board members were informed these items are presented for review and would be recommended for vote in the upcoming board cycle, with materials posted for the standard 30-day review where applicable.
