Board approves naming Pioneer School walking path the Brandt Legacy Walking Path

The Lebanon Community School District Board of Directors voted to dedicate the walking path at Pioneer School as the "Brandt Legacy Walking Path." The move followed public comments from a Pioneer School teacher and a community member who described the Brandt family's long involvement in student wellness and community events.

Kimberly Miner, a fifth‑grade teacher at Pioneer School, told the board she has watched Rachel Brandt lead the walking‑path project for more than two years and said naming the path for the Brandts would honor "the spirit of support, perseverance, and community" the family represents. Miner also highlighted Brandt's role leading the running club, which she said helps students build confidence and participate in community events.

A community member who identified himself as Adam also addressed the board, describing Tony Brandt as a committed community presence and saying a named path would prompt questions that keep those stories alive. After public comment, a board member moved to approve the dedication; a second was made and the board voted in favor by voice vote.
