Fredonia board approves cooperative-bidding and data-privacy resolutions; opts to add Diligent to next budget

At its March 10 meeting, the Fredonia Central School District Board approved routine business items including an annual cooperative-bidding resolution and a data-privacy agreement expansion. Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript.

The cooperative-bidding resolution lets the district participate in joint purchasing (BOSI) to combine buying power and reduce costs across multiple districts. The data-privacy motion expands an existing agreement to participate in a risk-operations center (described in the meeting as "the rock") to strengthen student-data protections and help comply with applicable education-data requirements.

The board also acknowledged personnel items included in consent: resignation of Francis Martinez Morales (food service to teacher-aide transition), appointment/first-food-service resolution for Julie De Pasquali, increased hours for Colleen Paradise, returns of Katherine Friend and Heidi Trestler, and the hiring of Jane Jensen as a certified extended-leave PE substitute.

Administrators presented a proposal to adopt Diligent (formerly BoardDocs) as the district’s board-management software. The quoted cost is roughly $8,500 upfront with an expected net annual cost of about $2,500 after eligible aid; the superintendent noted roughly 600 of 700 districts use the platform. Board members informally agreed to incorporate the Diligent subscription into next year’s budget; the board did not record a formal roll-call vote on that decision in the transcript.
