Lake Park Audubon students advance to BPA nationals in Nashville

Members of Lake Park Audubon’s new Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter presented their state conference results to the school board and asked for support as they prepare for nationals.
Mr. Hosfight introduced four students who described the chapter’s first‑year successes: the program brought 11 students to the state contest in Minneapolis; eight students finished among the top nine in their events and five students will advance to the national leadership competition in Nashville in May. "We already have a really small group, so having six people go to nationals is really big, especially for a school of our size," a student said.
Students described specific achievements: placements in database applications, desktop publishing, and computer modelingsome events advanced to state and others to nationals. Board members congratulated the students, asked a local reporter to take photos, and encouraged the board office to display recognition in the school hallway.
The board did not take formal action; administrators and the board said they would help publicize the chapter’s trip and support fundraising efforts.
