Covington board moves into closed executive session on property, litigation and personnel

The Covington Board of Education moved into a closed executive session under Kentucky Revised Statutes 61.810 to discuss multiple matters the board said must be considered in private.
The board’s attorney cited KRS 61.810 subsections 1(b) (deliberations on the future acquisition or sale of real property), 1(c) (discussions related to proposed or pending litigation), 1(f) (matters that might lead to the appointment, discipline, or dismissal of an individual employee) and 1(k) (matters federal or state law requires to be conducted in privacy). A motion and second were recorded and the board voted to enter executive session; board members said they did not anticipate taking action after the closed session.
The superintendent search item was reserved for executive session and the board noted it would not take official action on that search at the open meeting.
