The Ashwaubenon Village Board on March 24 approved a conditional use permit allowing Wisconsin Public Service to locate a natural gas district regulator station at 1020 West Main Avenue (parcel VA-L367-6).
Staff described the proposed station as a small masonry building with above-ground piping and related equipment. Recommended conditions included limiting above-ground components to a defined footprint (96 by 141 feet), driveway access from Spirit Way with an Ashwaubenon Public Works driveway permit, concrete driveway apron and gate, black vinyl-coated chain-link fencing, masonry building materials, and maintenance requirements for the gravel pad and exterior lighting and noise compliance with village ordinances. The site plan review committee and the Plan Commission had both recommended approval with those conditions.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the public hearing. Following a motion and second, the board voted to approve the conditional use permit with the conditions listed by staff.
Staff emphasized that the use is limited to a natural gas district regulator station and that any future exterior changes could trigger further review.
