Plymouth Joint School District board approves personnel changes, summer school dates and policy updates

The consent agenda — including approval of the Feb. 17, 2026 minutes, the financial report for July 1, 2025–Feb. 29, 2026, and bills covering Feb. 1–29, 2026 — was approved by voice vote; the transcript reads the bills amount but the number as spoken in the meeting appears garbled in the record.
Superintendent Scott presented personnel items. The board accepted retirements and resignations presented: the retirement of Anamotei, director of student services (effective end of 2025–26, 28 years with the district); the retirement of Gina Rapentine, physical education teacher at Riverview Middle School (effective end of 2025–26, 36 years with the district); resignation of Ashley Miller, special education teacher at Fairview Elementary (effective end of year); and resignation of Courtney Camaro, special education teacher at Plymouth High School (effective end of year). The board then moved, seconded and approved the hiring of Lance R as principal at Riverview Middle School beginning with the 2026–27 school year; board members voiced approval.
On finance and facilities matters, the board accepted a donation of snow boots and shoes from Karen Burger to support student needs at Horizon Elementary and approved corresponding budget adjustments. The board also approved summer school courses for the 2026 program (June 15–July 16, 2026).
The board considered second readings of policy updates (technical corrections in policy volume 35, an update to district administration relationship/supervision policy, and replacement policy 7540 on digital content accessibility) and discussed communication policy exceptions for emergencies, health-management needs and IEP/504 accommodations; administrators said specific emergency accommodations can be granted administratively when needed. Those policy updates were approved by voice vote.
The meeting concluded with reports from Community Education and the Education Foundation, a support-staff hiring announcement (Christina Simber as a special education aide at Verizon Elementary), celebration of student achievements and adjournment.
Next procedural steps: personnel approvals and the new principal appointment take effect as noted (some effective dates at the end of the school year or start of 2026–27); the board indicated further legislative updates will be provided at the April meeting.
