Court approves limited fireworks sales April 16–21 after rain forecast eases concerns

"I don't see any reason to not go ahead and approve the order selling fireworks soon," the judge said.
Commissioner Perkall moved to approve the order; Commissioner Young seconded the motion. The court called for the vote, and the motion passed. There was no recorded opposition. After the vote, the County Judge invited any further comments from the chiefs; none were offered and the court moved to the next agenda item.
The order permits temporary sales for the dates listed and does not, in this meeting, change permanent local restrictions or enforcement procedures. Officials said they will continue to monitor weather and fire conditions and use PSAs to advise residents about safe handling and use of fireworks.
