Board members publicly thanked Mr. Drill for his leadership, citing steady enrollment and an absence of state funding cuts this legislative session. “This school district is better because of you and the time and dedication that you have,” one board member said during the meeting.
The decision followed the district’s annual evaluation process. Administration earlier reported the district is about 30 students ahead of last year and is preparing for an unusually large fifth-grade cohort moving into sixth grade, matters the board said factor into multi-year planning and staffing decisions.
The board’s action on the superintendent’s contract was one of four resolutions approved by voice vote at the March meeting. The board also confirmed its budget calendar for 2026–27 and appointed Karen Ramsey to fill a budget committee vacancy.
