The SEAFORD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT board publicly honored two county‑champion teams and acknowledged coaches and students for recent season achievements.
Mr. Kevin W, introduced at the meeting as the event presenter, highlighted the boys bowling team’s run of county championships and detailed individual and team achievements, including all‑county performances and state placements. He listed players by name and noted the boys finished near the top at the state meet after narrow margins at the championship level.
Coach Martin and other members of the cheer coaching staff described a season that culminated in a Nassau County championship and a third‑place finish at the New York State Class C championship. "They hit two beautiful routines," Coach Martin said, praising the squad’s difficulty, teamwork and resilience after a season of roster turnover and adversity. The coach also described logistical problems on the state trip — including a bus with no working seat belts and a substandard hotel room — that coaches and boosters addressed to keep the focus on athletes’ safety and performance.
Board members presented flowers and public recognition to the athletes and encouraged the community to attend spring events. Coaches asked families and supporters to take photos after the presentations.
