Administration told the board the project had been included in the buildings and grounds capital reserve approved by voters during the budget process and that the RFP yielded three bids. Staff recommended the mid-priced bidder, Robert H. Lord Company, because their timeline best met the district’s requirement to have the gym ready for school openings; the recommended vendor was only about $500 higher than the lowest bid.
"We feel the most confident that they can get the job done so that the gym is ready for the opening of school," an administrator said while seeking board approval. The board moved to approve the contract and carried the motion 5-0.
The motion specified a purchase of $31,002 for the North School bleacher replacement; staff noted the project will proceed this summer and that the facilities team coordinated the RFP and vendor evaluation.
