Board members read correspondence thanking staff and mutual-aid responders for their quick actions after a fire at RMMS and an associated power outage at Captain Samuel Douglas Academy during a town meeting. The letters singled out the SAU and district administration, Superintendent Burke‑Skog, Principal Dan Molinari, Facilities Director Lance Finnamore, Brookline Fire Department Assistant Chief Dave Joki Jokey and mutual‑aid departments from Milford, Townsend, Hollis, Pepperell and Mason for rapid response that minimized damage and restored safe operations.
The Brookline PTO co-presidents, Maureen Schoma and Emily Meyer, and Board member Johanna Schriver Halligan provided written thanks noting mutual‑aid and a private contractor—Ben Center Trucking—for timely support with a generator and supplies. A board member asked permission to send formal letters of gratitude to the towns that provided mutual aid; the board authorized drafting and circulating a proposed letter for approval and signature.
Board members also used the correspondence to acknowledge the community and staff efforts during the incident. No formal action beyond authorization to draft and circulate the thank-you letters was recorded.
