Bob Slater re-elected chair; Amanda Butcher named vice chair of Londonderry School Board

Londonderry — The Londonderry School Board completed its reorganization at the March 26 meeting, re-electing Bob Slater as chair and naming Amanda Butcher vice chair by unanimous voice votes.
Board members opened nominations under an attorney-recommended procedure for electing leadership. A motion to re-nominate Bob Slater as chair was moved and seconded; the ayes carried and Slater assumed the chair. "Thank the voters out there for having their faith in re-electing me for another three-year term," Slater said, adding thanks to colleagues for their service.
Slater then sought nominations for vice chair; Amanda Butcher was nominated, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board proceeded to re-adopt district policies and approve the consent agenda, both carried by unanimous votes.
The meeting included tributes to retiring staff including Sarah Brown, Kathy Orio, Janet Stiff and Christine Frankour; board members read statements recognizing years of service and contributions to students and families.
The board approved upcoming meeting dates for April and May and moved on to presentations later in the agenda.
