Jordan Public Schools honors state qualifiers across sports, robotics and community education

The Jordan Public School District board used its March 9 meeting to present Jordan Pride Awards to student state participants, coaches and a district director for community education.
Mr. Butine introduced the Scott West wrestling team and head coach Gerald Stafer described the section championship and individual qualifiers, including a third-place state finish for Isaac Williams. The board presented certificates and congratulated the athletes for their performances and character.
The board also honored three gymnasts who competed through the district’s cooperative (Prior Lake co-op), noting a team score of 141.90 and a top-five finish. Jeremy Kalal and two adapted floor-hockey participants were recognized for a third-place state finish in their co-op. The district’s VEX robotics team — a first-time state qualifier — and participating students and coaches were praised for engineering work and teamwork. A ninth-grade swimmer, Ethan Fischer, was acknowledged in absentia as a relay alternate on a Prior Lake state team.
Finally, the board presented a Jordan Pride Award to Director Colin Bond for community education initiatives that engage seniors and other community groups. Bond accepted the award on behalf of the community education team and thanked staff and partners.
The recognitions were ceremonial; no board action was required.
