Board hears new three-year Achievement and Integration plan aimed at increasing equity and family engagement

Dr. Yamalan presented the Jordan Public School District’s new three-year Achievement and Integration plan at the March 9 board meeting, outlining cooperative goals with Prior Lake and Shakapei and district-specific actions to reduce achievement gaps.
The plan, which begins next school year as year one of the 2026–29 cycle, includes four primary goals: cooperative cross-district conversations for students in grades 4–12; student diversity leadership groups at each building; a goal to increase family engagement from underrepresented groups by 15 percent over three years (measured by district survey); and targeted academic-support programs to address disparities, such as surge instructional positions and evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Yamalan said the interventions would be supported by restricted Achievement and Integration funds and listed program elements including professional development, surge instructors, and student leadership facilitators. She noted district staff and principals collaborated on goals through an equity leadership team.
Board members received the update as an informational item and did not vote on the plan. Administrators said they will bring progress reviews to the board in future cycles.
