The Southeast Fountain School Corp. board on March 12 approved several facility projects and hired a new physical plant manager.
The board authorized purchase and installation of a modular press box from Outdoor Aluminum Inc. through the TIPS cooperative purchasing contract 23080101, citing urgent needs to replace a failing press box before the upcoming football season. The superintendent said the project is part of lease‑bond funded facility improvements.
The board also approved a contract with Burn and Jones Construction Sports Division to renovate the Fountain Central Junior‑Senior High School track — including surface removal and replacement, rebuilding runways, and high‑jump work — and authorized the superintendent or designee to execute necessary contracts and documents. During discussion a board member asked whether throwing‑area repairs (shot put/discus) would be included; the superintendent confirmed those areas would be addressed as part of the work.
Estimates from Reeseman LLC for baseball and softball dugout repairs, including roof replacement and interior ceilings, were approved and will be funded from lease bond allocations.
Separately, the board approved hiring Bill Dicki as the district's physical plant manager. The superintendent described Dicki's mechanical and HVAC experience and said Dicki will begin part‑time in April and move to full‑time in August after the district's HVAC installation is complete.
All measures were approved by voice vote.
The board tied the projects to previously authorized lease bonds; specific contract start dates and total project budgets were not provided in the meeting record.
