Representatives from Prairie Meadows and the Polk County Board of Supervisors presented North Polk Community School District with a combined, unrestricted gift of $24,640.73 during the board meeting.
"This is one of my favorite times of the year," said Brian Oelco, president and CEO of Prairie Meadows, thanking the district and explaining that Prairie Meadows returns gambling revenue to local communities. Jill Ultringer, Polk County supervisor for District 2, said the county and Prairie Meadows have a long-standing partnership and that the contribution is unencumbered. Ultringer asked the district to report back next year on how the funds were used.
Board members and administrators thanked the donors and posed for a presentation photo; the donation was recorded on the meeting agenda and acknowledged during superintendent and board remarks.
