At the March 10 meeting the Williamson County Board of Commissioners approved routine land-use and administrative items, including two subdivision plats, a master professional services agreement, a raffle permit, travel reimbursement and two reappointments to county boards.
The highway department presented two subdivision requests: a small lot split south of Johnson City and a roughly five-acre division off Baker's Road. After staff confirmed septic and frontage compliance with county ordinance, the board voted to approve the plats.
The board also approved a previously reviewed master professional services/technology agreement after staff reported the governing-law clause had been changed from California to Illinois. The county treasurer explained the vendor pays the program costs and that expanding the county's property coverage could increase bed-tax revenue. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the agreement by roll call.
A raffle and public‑run permit for the SIH Foundation was reviewed by legal and found to meet requirements; the board voted to accept the permit. The board approved two resolutions to reappoint Tim Daniels to the county 708 board (term through Dec. 31, 2028) and Cheryl Wilbur to Rides Mass Transit (term April 10, 2026'April 10, 2030). The board also approved a travel reimbursement of $272.60 for mileage to a conference in Springfield.
Items not acted on: commissioners opened discussion of proposed employee handbook amendments but elected to delay action and asked members to continue review and consult other officeholders; a closed session on personnel matters was suggested for a future meeting.
The meeting recessed and was scheduled to reconvene at 1:30 p.m. for an afternoon progress/payment discussion.
