Superintendent updates community outreach, lockdown response and new high school progress

The superintendent also reminded families about preschool and kindergarten registration, noting children who will be five on or before Aug. 21 should visit the district website to enroll. On safety, Dr. Hazelman addressed a recent lockdown at the high school and middle school, characterizing the episode as a swatting incident and thanking students, staff, the Bowling Green Police Department, the fire division and parents for their response: "This lockdown brought high tension to all involved. We are grateful the situation was a swatting incident and not the alternative."
On facilities, Dr. Hazelman said construction on the new high school "continues to move along," reporting visible progress, and stated the project remains on budget and on schedule with more updates expected at the next meeting.
