The Oyster River Cooperative School Board voted to approve the FY27 warrant articles for the February 3 deliberative session, moving the operating budget, bond and several other warrant items to the ballot.
A motion to approve the FY27 warrant articles was made, seconded and approved on a 6–0 vote after the board agreed to corrections to formatting and presentation before final signatures are attached. The board’s vote advances Warrant Article 4 (the operating budget), Warrant Article 3 (the bond for elementary renovations) and articles to approve collective bargaining agreements and add funds to expendable trust accounts.
Superintendent Dr. Shaps had summarized the articles in the public hearing earlier in the meeting and noted petition warrants (including a petition asking for $50,000 to fund an independent performance audit) will appear on the warrant if the required signatures are validated; petition warrants are handled separately and will appear on the ballot as submitted.
The board recorded the vote as six in favor and none opposed; next steps include posting corrected warrant text and convening the deliberative session on February 3.
