Board defers action on 12 Lisa Terrace street tree, requests resolution and inspection
Summary
The board deferred acceptance of a small street tree planted at 12 Lisa Terrace, citing an affidavit missing a notarization, an undersized planting that may not meet the approved caliber, and a deficient escrow; members asked staff to provide the approved resolution and plans and to inspect the tree.

The Somerville Board of Adjustment on April 1 postponed action on a request to accept a small street tree installed at 12 Lisa Terrace under a prior approval. The board said the planted tree appears smaller than the caliber approved in the original application, the applicant’s affidavit lacked a notary seal, and the applicant may need to supplement a deficient escrow.
Board members asked staff to provide the original resolution and approved plans for the board’s review, and agreed to inspect the tree during the coming weeks to determine whether it meets the ordinance and the conditions of prior approval. The planner and staff will update the board at the next meeting once the paperwork and inspection are completed.
If the tree is found insufficient the board may require replacement or other remedial steps and may require additional escrow to ensure completion of approved improvements.
