Board pulls winter‑sports equipment contracts after bid‑spec problems; will rebid for November

Haidider doing business as Sportsman's; and Varsity Brands Holding Company. A board member raised the issue during agenda review; the administration agreed to pull the contracts and to rebid the specifications. The resolution awarding contracts (resolution 10K) was removed from the agenda.
Why it matters: administrators told the board they expect to rebid the package and return results at the November meeting; athletic department staff said the timing should be sufficient for students to receive uniforms and equipment ahead of the season. The board did not approve any of the three contracts at the Oct. 23 meeting.
Quote: "The contract can't be awarded based on the specs that were sent out; so it's going to be rebid and will be awarded at the November meeting," an administrator told the board.
Next steps: procurement staff will revise bid specifications and re‑advertise the procurement. The board will consider the rebid results in November and re‑consider resolution 10K at that time.
