After a short public comment period in which a community member praised the superintendent’s leadership, the board unanimously approved the first amendment to Superintendent Tiffany Benson’s employment agreement.
Staff read a statutory oral summary required by Government Code section 54953. The amendment sets the contract term from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2029, establishes a one‑time payment of $6,000 (payable August 2025), provides an annual $6,000 deposit into a tax‑sheltered annuity beginning July 1, 2025, and lists an annual base salary of $255,000 effective July 1, 2025. The amendment also removes a $3,000 master’s‑degree supplement previously in the agreement. The board discussed the superintendent’s performance, the hiring process the prior year, and the board president’s role in negotiating the contract. A motion to approve passed by voice vote.
The board also approved amendments to employment agreements for the chief business officer and assistant superintendents (educational services and human resources). Board members characterized the changes as retention and consistency measures and noted the district intends to use the contract language consistently across senior staff.
During public comment, Mark Noak said the district is in good fiscal condition and praised Tiffany Benson’s leadership, telling the board: "I think your contribution has been tremendous already and I wish you the best of luck." Tiffany Benson thanked the board and attributed recognition to her team.
The minutes show the board approved these personnel items by voice vote. The contracts and related documents were noted as available on the district website for public inspection.
