Board reports election outcomes and district events; bond fails while operating budget and several trust funds pass

Board members opened the meeting by reporting local election results: Giana Chelsea and Denise Day were reelected to three-year seats and Al Howland was elected district moderator. The board said the operating budget and several trust-fund warrant articles (facilities and special education trust funds and open-enrollment funding) passed, while a bond vote (Article 3) and multiple petition articles including a petition to create an official budget committee, retained fund-balance authority and a tax-cap measure did not pass.

Administrators and principals highlighted upcoming events: elementary spring musicals (April 21-23), a high-school musical in May, a fourth-grade Jungle Book performance, the Moharam pancake breakfast and sugaring-program activities, and an 8th-grade trip to Washington, D.C. (April 15-18 with 149 students). The district reminded families that kindergarten registration is open and announced screenings and additional registration dates in June.

The board also approved minutes from the March 18 regular meeting (with minor spelling and name corrections) and accepted non-public meeting minutes. Trustees reiterated appreciation for volunteers and noted student accomplishments such as National History Day finalists and NHMEA selections.
