The council responded that planning-board hearings had identified violations related to how trees were removed and to garbage-enclosure issues; the council said a resolution required replanting certain trees along the rear and front and that replanting would be completed when seasons and permit conditions permit. Council members noted that a tenant at the location had recently closed and there were discussions about a lease for a similar food-use occupant; the borough said there were no other known active plans at that time.
What’s next: The borough said it expects the planning-board-mandated replanting and will follow up with the resident if additional enforcement or permitting issues arise.
