At its March 5, 2026 meeting the Red Bank Zoning Board of Adjustment took three notable actions.
The board adopted a resolution approving the conversion of 191 Bridge Avenue from a single-family to a two-family home, with a condition clarifying that demolition defined as changes to the foundation would require the applicant to return to the board.
The board also approved an application authorizing construction of a single-family home on an undersized lot at 232 South Pearl Street. The board noted the applicant agreed to rearrange a neighbor’s deck/steps at the applicant’s expense as part of the conditions discussed on the record.
Finally, the board granted a C1 bulk variance for 194 East Bergen Place to allow replacement of an existing handicapped ramp that sits in a pre-existing nonconforming location (approximately 2 feet from the easterly property line, 1 foot 3 inches at the closest point). That approval is subject to compliance with ADA standards, required permits and a licensed professional’s certification that the work was completed in accordance with approved plans; the board suggested a 24-month maximum timeframe for completion.
All three measures were adopted by unanimous vote of the members present.
