Rabbi Aliyahu Yonic delivered an invocation that invoked the seven Noahide commandments and urged lawmakers to lead with “wisdom, insight, and compassion.” He referenced Education and Sharing Day, noting the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson’s 124th birthday on the 11th of Nissan.
“The senator from Chittenden said, ‘given that we are now at 5:05, I will move that we stand in recess until 1:25,’” the presiding officer recorded. Members briefly debated whether a formal roll-call vote was necessary; the presiding officer put the question to a voice vote, calling, “All in favor, say ‘Aye’; all opposed, ‘Nay.’” He then declared that the ayes had it and announced the recess.
