The Owosso Main Street & Downtown Development Authority unanimously approved its Fiscal Year 2026‑27 budget at the May 6 meeting, setting aside $34,082 to the fund balance to support a future downtown streetlight replacement project.
Lizzie Fredrick reviewed the recommended budget and said the $34,082 allocation is intended to carry forward for continued streetlight replacement work. Commissioners voted to adopt the budget on a motion by Jon Moore, supported by Commissioner Josh Ardelean; the minutes record the vote as “AYE: ALL.”
Fredrick also told the board that revenue from interest earned, fundraising and the electric‑vehicle charging stations exceeds the cost of committee programming. As a result, the board confirmed that Tax Increment Financing and millage funds are not needed to support committee projects in FY26‑27. The board approved companion FY26‑27 projects and work plans at the same meeting.
