Public commenter urges easier access to solicitor registrations, raises dirt‑bike and tree‑hazard concerns

At the start of the April 1 meeting, Mr. Bendell addressed trustees during public comment, urging the Village to give police better access to solicitor registration information and raising safety concerns about dirt‑bike use and hazardous trees on Village property.
"When you call our PD non‑emergency number, they have no way to find out if these solicitors are registered," Mr. Bendell said, describing door hangers below 'no solicitors' signs and telling trustees that the process requires Laraway dispatching an officer to the property to verify registration after Village Hall closes.
He also urged the Village to consider additional signage, trespass warnings and fencing to limit access to a motocross/sledding hill at Romeo Crossing where riders were tearing up soil and using a bike path, and called attention to dead branches in trees near play areas that he described as 'widowmaker' hazards for children.
In response, the Clerk said all active solicitors are listed on the Village website and noted staff will bring an e‑bike ordinance to the Board on April 15. Trustees did not take formal action on the comments during the meeting.
