At its March meeting the Haysville Board of Education approved a corrected 2026–27 academic calendar, accepted policy updates recommended by KASB, and approved the consent agenda, which included introduction of Jordan Funk as the district's candidate for assistant superintendent for human resources and student services.
Staff pointed out two corrections to the proposed calendar before the vote: the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) was added back to the schedule, and March entries were adjusted so March 11 would be marked as the end of the nine-week grading period with March 12 designated as a professional development day. After clarifications the board voted to adopt calendar option two as presented.
Board members also reviewed a package of policy updates prepared with KASB and voted to accept those recommended revisions. During the consent-agenda discussion Jordan Funk briefly addressed the board after being introduced; the consent agenda and treasurer's report were approved without objection.
Motions to approve the calendar and the KASB updates were recorded as unanimously approved by roll call in the meeting audio. Staff will post the finalized calendar and policy updates as required and continue routine implementation steps.
