Sheriff Kevin Armstrong presented the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office 2025 annual report to the Board of County Commissioners on March 24, saying the agency saw a notable increase in demand for services and operational workload.
Armstrong told the board that computer-aided dispatch (CAD) activity rose about 21% in 2025 while 911 calls increased roughly 12%. He said body-worn-camera usage expanded by more than 17,000 new recordings last year, bringing the sheriff's total digital evidence files past 35,000. The evidence unit reduced stored inventory by nearly 25% through focused disposals and updated inventory management, Armstrong said. "This reflects improved compliance and organization and long-term evidence management practices," he added.
