Triumph House seeks brick‑pier and steel fence along Eden Street; commissioners request construction and lighting cut sheets

Triumph House representatives presented a proposal to replace an existing chain‑link fence with a brick‑pier wall and steel infill panels along Eden Street and the property edge. The design calls for brick piers with a capped wall, steel picket panels between piers, and pedestrian and vehicular gates; recessed wall lights and periodic overhead light posts are part of the design intent.

Facilities director Chris Bach said the design will match existing brick and metalwork elsewhere on the Triumph property and that the fence will connect to the masonry on the adjacent building. Commissioners asked for technical drawings showing how metal anchors or embeds will be set into mortar joints (the commission prefers embedment into mortar for durability and replacement), wiring details for recessed wall lights and cut sheets for fixtures, and clarification of final wall heights because the proposed piers and wall appear taller than typical in the ABC district. Staff noted the current chain link will be removed and that the project may proceed in phases; commissioners suggested that showing the proposed wall in context with the streetscape and with the neighboring history center wall will be helpful for the hearing.

Next steps: applicant to provide product cut sheets for metal panels and recessed wall lights, and a dimensioned elevation showing the wall relationship to existing streetscape and neighboring masonry for the hearing packet.
