Student council presents spring activities, competition results and service projects

Student council leaders presented to the board on March 23 about recent successes and upcoming activities at Silver High. Brock Anderson, student body president, summarized National History Day achievements (regional placings and upcoming state competition), winter sports results and early-season spring qualifiers in track and field.
Students highlighted service projects—hoodie and snack drives completed this year and an upcoming toiletry drive—and described leadership lessons from the NASC student leadership conference. Several students noted state qualifiers in track and field (for example, students named as qualifiers for javelin, discus and sprint events) and recapped winter-district performances for boys’ and girls’ basketball and wrestling.
Board members thanked students and advisers and asked about the council’s vision and community engagement plans; students described goals to build school spirit, connect different student groups, and expand community participation in events such as a Fourth of July parade. The board encouraged continued leadership development and noted student council plans to present again for middle school visits and other events.
