The board then conducted a roll-call vote; Directors Cummings, McNeel, Stafford, Director Neil, Vice Chair Esrich and Chair Lock all recorded affirmative votes and the motion passed.
The vote followed no discussion and no public comment; staff confirmed that nobody had signed up to speak during the public-comment period. The adopted 2026–27 calendar includes a start date before Labor Day, as stated during the motion. The board did not discuss additional substantive calendar details during the meeting.
Board members exchanged brief comments after the vote, including well wishes for a person named Tony who was noted to be recovering from a hip procedure. A board member asked whether a scheduled policy committee meeting would be canceled because of spring break; staff confirmed the policy meeting was canceled.
Staff announced upcoming meetings at the district office: a business meeting on April 9 at 7 p.m.; a budget committee meeting and work session on April 23 (time to be determined); and a policy committee meeting on April 29 at 7 p.m.
The work session concluded with a motion to adjourn that was moved, seconded and approved.
