Waterville reports $12.62 million at month-end February; income tax receipts up 4.84% year over year

Finance Director Tiffany told the council that the City of Waterville27s reconciled February balance was $12,620,996, an increase of $386,500 from January. She pointed out several expenditures in the packet, including a wastewater treatment plant debt payment and recent police equipment purchases from Axon.
Tiffany also said March income tax collections were up 4.84% from March 2025. The treasury report noted a customary February real-estate tax advance from the county of roughly $320,000 and reported water and sewer funds holding near $3 million.
Administrator Jen said the revised city website completed phase one and the city has solicited proposals to renew refuse and recycling contracts, with proposals due April 17, 2026.
Council members also discussed Mount Clover Road construction, which began March 23 and will extend through June, and staff noted community programming: the Conrad Park Easter egg hunt on March 28 (announced in public comment) and a National Prescription Drug Takeback event on April 25 at the municipal building police-alley drop-off.
Council did not take major fiscal action at the meeting; staff will return with contract proposals and routine follow-up.
