At its March 23 meeting the Waterville City Council gave the first reading to Ordinance 0126, which would authorize transfer of two parcels (6730 and 6824 Anthony Wayne Trail) from the City of Waterville to the Waterville Community Improvement Corporation.
City staff explained the ordinance provides a marketing and transfer mechanism that allows the parcels to be offered for sale in a manner intended to achieve higher market value than sealed bids. The ordinance was presented for its first reading on March 23; the second reading is scheduled for April 13 and final legislative action is scheduled for April 27, 2026.
No final sale terms were discussed at the March 23 meeting; staff said the ordinance and a development agreement will facilitate marketing and sale in subsequent steps.
