The court reviewed a proposed migration of county web and records services under the Texas Association of Counties (TAC). Judge and staff explained the migration includes a one-time fee of $8,950 and an annual service fee of $9,550, for a combined first-year cost of roughly $18,500. The migration covers county web services, public-access features and accessibility accommodations.
Commissioners discussed budget timing and whether the treasurer could postpone payment until a later quarter; the treasurer had not yet responded to an emailed question. Commissioners heard that other providers exist but some counties reported higher fees elsewhere, and county staff recommended proceeding with TAC to avoid a projected backlog and later price increases.
After discussion, the court voted unanimously to approve the TAC migration agreement and to direct staff to coordinate timing with the treasurer and TAC’s schedule. Commissioners noted the migration process is expected to begin late March or in the next quarter and stressed the county will monitor costs and scheduling.
